Shaoxing University Students Visit Threadify for Industry–Academia Collaboration

On November 19, Threadify welcomed students from the Fashion and Apparel Design program at Shaoxing University of Science and Technology for an immersive industry–academia collaboration. Guided by Professor Zhang, the visit offered first-year students a rare opportunity to step beyond the classroom and experience the full spectrum of real-world design, fabrics, and innovation.

A Hands-On Journey at Threadify

The visit kicked off with a warm introduction from Ms. Cai, Threadify’s Design Director, who opened the doors to Threadify’s three core spaces:

• 10,000 m² Fabric & Accessory Supermarket
• Designer Co-Creation Workspace
• Central Pattern-Making Studio for Rapid Prototyping

Together, these facilities form Threadify’s integrated one-stop fashion development ecosystem—where inspiration, materials, and execution come together seamlessly.

Inspiration From Alumni at Threadify

A highlight of the day was the “Senior’s Sharing Session,” where Zhang Jing—Threadify designer and outstanding alumna of Shaoxing University—presented her sample garments. She shared her design journey, creative process, and the realities of transforming concepts into commercial pieces.

Her story sparked excitement and motivation among the students, many of whom are just beginning to explore their own design identities.

Students Explore Fabric Trends & Design Logic

Professor Zhang then led a deep-dive analysis of the designer samples displayed in the Threadify showroom. Using real pieces as teaching tools, she guided students through:

• Current fashion trends
• Fabric characteristics and applications
• Craftsmanship and technical execution
• The conceptual logic behind each design

The showroom became a live classroom—offering context, clarity, and inspiration in every detail.

Digital Future of Fashion at Threadify

Ms. Cai introduced the students to Threadify’s digital capabilities with a live demonstration of the Threadify online platform.
This was followed by a guided exploration of the designer co-creation space and the central pattern-making studio, where she explained tools, workflows, and rapid sampling techniques using real materials.

The students saw firsthand how digital and physical workflows merge to accelerate modern fashion development.

Creativity Ignited in Threadify Fashion Complex

To conclude their visit, students enjoyed free exploration time in the fabric and accessory supermarket.
Walking through aisles filled with textures, colors, and possibilities, they observed, touched, and imagined—translating abstract classroom concepts into sensory experience.

For many of the first-year attendees, this was a formative moment: a spark that transformed fabric knowledge from theory into intuition.
