School-Enterprise Collaboration | Industrial Design Students and Faculty from Zhijiang College Visit Threadify
On October 22nd, more than 50 students and faculty from the Industrial Design program at Zhijiang College of Zhejiang University of Technology visited Threadify for a study trip. Ms. Cai welcomed the group and guided them throughout, taking students up close to the wide range of fabrics, trims, and finished garments so they could see how fabric properties show up in real garment design.
Starting at the Fabric & Accessories Supermarket
Led by Ms. Cai, the group first toured the Fabric & Accessories Supermarket, where she highlighted Threadify's self-developed online digital platform. Alongside the explanation, students handled a variety of physical fabrics and felt for themselves the real texture and character of different materials.

Seeing and Touching in the Designer Co-Creation Space
Next, the group moved to the sample garment display area in the Designer Co-Creation Space. Students studied finished garments made for different scenarios, and also touched them by hand to feel how different fabrics really behave. Combining looking with touching, they got a clearer picture of how a design idea lands on a physical garment.

A Quick Look at the Central Sample Room
The visit then passed by the central sample room, giving students a brief look at the environment where garments are patterned and samples are made, and a feel for the basic flow of garment production.

Building Ties Between School and Industry
By touching fabrics and studying sample garments, the industrial design students gained first-hand insight into the industry, and the visit deepened the interaction between school and company.
Looking ahead, Threadify hopes to work with more schools on co-developed courses and practical study programs, together advancing industry-education integration.
