China's Textile and Apparel Exports Reach $146 Billion in H1 2026
China's textile and apparel industry closed the first half of 2026 with total exports of US$146.01 billion, a steady 1.4% increase over the same period last year. For sourcing teams and brands watching global supply chains, the numbers confirm what many in the industry have felt on the ground: China's textile export engine remains resilient, even as growth settles into a more measured pace.
Top Textile Exporting Provinces in China
The China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles released province-level export figures alongside the national total. Five provinces stood out:
- Zhejiang
- Jiangsu
- Guangdong
- Shandong
- Fujian
Together, these five accounted for more than 70% of China's total textile and apparel export value, cementing their role as the backbone of the country's textile trade.

What This Means for Global Buyers and Sourcing Teams
A 1.4% export gain might look modest on paper. But in the context of a shifting global trade environment, it signals stability and adjusting to global demand rather than chasing rapid expansion. As trade dynamics continue to shift through the rest of 2026, the provinces already leading the pack are likely to stay in that position, giving sourcing teams a clear signal about where to focus supplier relationships and due diligence.
