Threadify’s First Cross-Border Industry–University Cooperation

From March 23rd to 27th, 2026, Threadify proudly hosted its first cross-border industry–university Cooperation with ATLAS SkillTech University, welcoming 19 faculty members and students to China for an immersive five-day study tour across Keqiao and Shanghai.

This milestone initiative brought together emerging design talent and industry expertise, creating a dynamic platform for cultural exchange, technical learning, and creative collaboration between India and China.

A Deep Dive into Threadify’s Ecosystem

The journey began in Keqiao, where participants were introduced to Threadify’s integrated supply chain ecosystem on 23rd March. Students explored how digital tools and curated sourcing streamlined the journey from concept to garment at the fabric and accessories library and the designer co-working space at Threadify’s Fashion Complex.

Through interactive sessions, Threadify’s leadership and design team shared insights into the company’s evolution and its mission to empower global designers. Designers also presented real-world experiences, while winners of the “Weaving Journey” talent program showcased their work—highlighting how AI and digital tools are shaping the next generation of fashion design.

A key highlight was the introduction to Style3D, demonstrating how 3D simulation and virtual prototyping are transforming traditional apparel development into a faster, more efficient digital process. The session ended with Threadify presenting certificate and a commemorative gift to each student and faculty.

Exploring the Heart of the Textile Industry

The study tour continued on 24th & 25th March with an in-depth exploration of Keqiao’s textile landscape, widely known as one of the world’s largest textile hubs.

Participants visited the China Textile City Exhibition Center, gaining historical and strategic insights into the region’s rise as a global textile powerhouse. This was followed by a factory visit to Yinan Printing and Dyeing the next day, where students observed the full production cycle—from greige fabric to finished textiles—bringing classroom knowledge to life.

The journey also included a visit to the VDS International Designer Brand Center, where participants experienced how international design resources and industry networks converge to support brand development and cross-border collaboration.

Experiencing the Pulse of Global Fashion

The final leg of the tour took the group to Shanghai on 26th & 27th March, where they attended the prestigious Shanghai Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2026 showcases. Here, students witnessed firsthand the scale, creativity, and commercial dynamics of one of Asia’s leading fashion events.

They also explored emerging design talent at the China Cup College Student Graduation Season Fashion Design Competition—a platform that highlights the innovation and perspectives of China’s next generation of designers. Through direct interaction and dialogue, students engaged in meaningful cross-cultural exchanges, sharing ideas and inspiration across borders.

Building the Future Through Collaboration

Spanning two cities and the full spectrum of the fashion value chain, from raw materials to runway, this five-day journey offered a holistic understanding of how design, technology, and industry intersect in today’s global landscape.

More than just a study tour, this collaboration marked the beginning of a long-term vision: fostering international partnerships, nurturing young talent, and creating opportunities for knowledge exchange across borders.

As the program concluded, participants returned home with new perspectives, practical insights, and lasting connections. For Threadify, this initiative represents a significant step toward building a global design ecosystem—one where creativity transcends geography and collaboration drives innovation.
