From Classroom to Industry: Keqiao Students Experience the Journey of Apparel at Threadify
December 30, 2025 | Event
How does a single piece of fabric become a finished garment ready for the global market? For students of fashion design, the answer goes far beyond textbooks.
On December 30, Zhang Yu, Principal of Keqiao District Vocational Education Center, led more than 40 fashion design students to Threadify for an immersive, on-site industry learning experience. Guided by Ms. Cai, the group stepped inside Threadify’s digital ecosystem to explore the complete apparel value chain—from fabric selection and design to pattern making and finished garments.

Understanding Threadify’s Digital Sourcing Ecosystem
The visit began with an introduction by Principal Zhang, who shared insights into Threadify’s positioning and business model. As a digital service platform connecting global apparel stakeholders, Threadify aggregates premium fabric resources from Keqiao while offering end-to-end solutions—including design support, pattern making, and sample garment production.
She emphasized that this visit was designed to help students bridge the gap between theory and practice, allowing classroom knowledge to come alive through real-world industry exposure.

Exploring Threadify Fashion Complex
Under Ms. Cai’s guidance, the students toured several key spaces within Threadify:
- Fabric & Accessories Supermarket
- Digital Corridor
- Designer Co-working Space
- Central Sample Room
In the fabric and accessories supermarket, students learned how fabrics are intelligently categorized by application scenarios such as sportswear, outdoor apparel, and home textiles. Each fabric features a unique QR code, enabling instant access to real-time data—including specifications, usage scenarios, and direct links to Threadify’s global procurement platform. A simple scan revealed how digitalization streamlines sourcing, improves transparency, and accelerates decision-making across the supply chain.

Exploring Digital Sample of Garments
As the group moved through the digital corridor, Ms. Cai demonstrated how Threadify’s app allows users to quickly search fabrics and view them in 3D digital format. This three-dimensional visualization gives designers a more accurate understanding of texture, drape, and performance—long before physical sampling begins.
Threadify designer Co-working Space
In the designer co-working space, thousands of sample garments were on display. Beyond sparking creativity, these samples play a vital role in pattern making. As Ms. Cai explained, physical garments allow designers and pattern makers to communicate more precisely, reducing errors and improving efficiency throughout the development process.

Learning by Exploring Fabric and Accessories
The experience culminated back in the fabric and accessories supermarket, where students engaged directly with tens of thousands of fabrics. By touching, comparing, and examining different textures and materials, they transformed abstract classroom concepts into tangible industry knowledge.
The atmosphere buzzed with discussion, curiosity, and excitement—students exchanging ideas, asking questions, and visualizing their future roles within the apparel ecosystem.

Building Bridges Between Education and Industry
This visit didn’t just showcase Threadify’s digital capabilities—it recreated the real journey of a garment, from concept to completion. More importantly, it built a meaningful bridge between campus learning and industry practice.
Threadify looks forward to deepening collaborations with universities and vocational institutions, supporting the next generation of designers as they grow within real-world industry scenarios. Together, we aim to nurture innovation, talent, and sustainable growth for the future of China’s apparel industry—and beyond.
