Industry–Academia Exchange: Faculty and Students from Zhejiang University Visit Threadify
December 12, 2025 | Event
On December 12th, Threadify welcomed faculty members and second-year students from the Fashion and Apparel Design program at Zhejiang University of Technology Zhijiang College for an immersive industry visit. The delegation was led by Ms. Ye Lingzhu, Head of the Fashion and Apparel Design program, and Mr. Zheng Shengping, Senior Pattern Maker at Threadify. Mr. Wei warmly received the visiting group and guided them throughout the tour, offering practical insights into the real-world operations of the apparel and textile industry and showcasing how design, materials, and technology come together on a global platform.

Students Explore Threadify Fashion Complex
Tour of Fabric and Accessories Supermarket
The visit began at Threadify Fashion Complex’s fabric and accessories supermarket, a key feature of Threadify’s ecosystem. Hundreds of partner companies showcased thousands of fabrics and accessory samples. Students were encouraged to touch, examine, and compare different fabrics and trims, gaining hands-on experience with material textures, performance, and applications. This interactive approach helped bridge theoretical classroom learning with real material knowledge—an essential foundation for future designers.

Inside the Designer Co‑Working Space
The tour continued into designer co‑working space, a collaborative environment filled with inspiration. Thousands of sample garments designed by Threadify’s in-house designers were on display, representing a wide range of styles and ready-to-wear collections. Students closely observed how fabrics are transformed into finished garments through thoughtful design and precise tailoring. Discussions focused on silhouette development, structural details, and stylistic expression.

Understanding Pattern Making and Global Operations
Another key highlight was the central pattern‑making room. The clean, orderly workspace and highly professional workflow provided students with an intuitive view of standardized garment production and assembly-line processes. Seeing pattern development in action helped demystify an essential but often abstract part of apparel manufacturing.

Real‑time Sales Data Dashboard
Mr. Wei also introduced students to Threadify’s real‑time sales data dashboard, displaying live information from global online buyers—including inquiries and orders. This gave students a firsthand look at how Threadify operates as a global one‑stop platform, connecting designers, suppliers, and buyers across borders.

Building a Bridge Between Education and Industry
Throughout the visit, students remained highly engaged, asking questions and actively participating in discussions. The experience allowed them to feel the pulse of the apparel industry while gaining a clearer vision of future career pathways.
At Threadify, we believe meaningful industry–academia exchanges play a vital role in nurturing the next generation of fashion professionals. We look forward to continuing collaboration with universities and educational institutions, working together to support student growth and contribute to the sustainable development of the global apparel industry.
